WWAM operates and maintens a variety of the most widely used post WWII / Korean War US and Soviet Block Military Training aircraft;
These Aircraft are based at the Museum Hanagar in San Diego at Gillespie Field (KSEE) at 1920 Joe Crosson Drive. The aircraft are all flyable and regularly participate in public displays at airshows throughout California and the Southwesten United States.
We offer Sightseeing rides under FAR Part 91.147. each plane is capable of taking 1 passenger at a time.
Note: we do not book thru 1800SkyRide, or ThrillPlanet - These are internet frauds
Each flight originates out of our Gillespie Field hangar. We will suit you up in a US military flight suit, outfit you with a Military helmet so you can talk back and forth with the pilot and can listen in on Air Traffic Control communications. Then you will taxi out and take off. The typical "scenic route" departs from Gillespie Field and heads South under the Lindberg landing corridor, and over Sweetwater Resevior and down to San Diego "South Bay". We head acrross the bay and then offshore past the Silver Strand, the Hotel del Coronado, NAS North Island, past Pt Loma, and we turn Northboud offshore and "duck under" Lindberg Field's take off corridor heading past Ocean Beach Pier, past Mission Bay, were you will see the Coaster, then Crystal Pier, La Jolla, Torry Pines, the up to the Del Mar Race track. There we head inland, head over the Ranch Santa Fe area and un to Ramona, passing Iron Mountain and Mt Woodson. Then over San Vicente Reswevior, Lakeside and back into Gillespie Field for a US Navy carrier break arrival.
For the Jet Ride we usually depart out of March Air Force Base, proceed up to Hemet / Temecula Area for some aerobatics and then back to March ARB, where we do a USAF pitchout, over their museum on I-15 and then return to land.
