The Missing Man Flight typically includes:

1)  (4) Aircraft Formation Fly By, in a Diamond or Wedge configuration (above right) over the Memorial Service.

2) Then the aircraft enter a wide circling turn, and reconfigure into a Missing Man Fingertip Formation (seen above left).

3). The Missing Man Flight of 4 turns inbound and lines up to fly directly over the memorial service.

4) A ground liason Forward Air Control (FAC) member will be on hand at the service to coordinate the timing with the family for the Missing Man Fly Over.

5) As the Missing Man Flight reachs the Pull Up Point the #3 aircraft is directed to pull up skyward into an ascending climb and then rolls gracefully towards the West, signifying the fallen aviator’s spirit reluctantly being called to heaven.
